November/December
We have had a crazy week here. Savannah fell and broke her arm on Saturday night. She had her first surgical procedure to fix the arm on Sunday. Hopefully, we will never have to go through that again with any of the children. She is doing much better now. She was able to go to school for a few days this week and most importantly made her Christmas party at school. We are all so glad Savannah is doing well. She has an orange and green cast for 6-8 weeks.
Thought I would post a few of the Christmas pictures that didn't make the card. If you didn't recieve your Christmas greeting in the mail, let me know. The twins have taken their first few steps in the past week. Megan was "caught" today on top of the kid sized table in the basement (we may need the Ortho Doc on speed dial for that child!). We are all looking forward to a relaxing (uneventfull) Christmas!!

Museum and Gymnastics
The twins and I had a blast with Alicia and Benny at the Cinci Children's Museum a few weeks ago. They are very active now, getting into EVERYTHING, including water tables (aka toilets), toilet paper rolls are very exciting, trash cans, curtains (playing hide and seek in the curtains is a new favorite activity), stairs, and getting their hands on just about anything else they can reach.
Both are still crawling and cruising, but still not walking on their own. Meg decided to give her Daddy's cell phone a bath today. Apparently, she could reach Mike's phone that appeared to be out of reach.

Savannah has been taking Gymnastics classes at Miami U with a few of her neighborhood friends. She has had a lot of fun and really seems to like it. She is doing great in school. I can see the reading skills developing and she even read me part of a new book today (she got a little tired of sounding things out about half way thru, but did awesome).
Halloween
Dragons and Bees and Turtles, oh my!! We had a lot of fun this year over the Halloween week. On Sunday before halloween we went to Hallzooween at the Cinci Zoo. Savannah enjoyed getting all the candy and watching the animals eat their pumpkins and the twins enjoyed the stroller ride. That night we had our neighborhood trick-or-treat. It worked out great doing it before Halloween as nearly every family participated and the weather couldn't have been better.
Savannah got to wear her costume again to school on Friday for the day. Her school did a parade of costumes followed by her classroom party. Savannah and I were in charge of the art project for the party. We made little magnets.
That night we got in the car and headed to Illinois where we spent the weekend with Brad, Brishen and Bella Weir. We trick-or-treated with them on actual Halloween. Bella was an Illinois Cheerleader (good thing too as her cheering helped Illinois win the football game that day). We met Nana and Grandpa and Marcia for brunch on Sunday. Wow, thinking about all the activities that week wears me out. We really had a great time and got a lot of use out of the costumes!! Enjoy the pictures.

Vacation x 2
We have had a very busy 2 weeks. The kids and I went to St. Louis to my Grandma Fechter's 90th Birthday party. It was a lot of fun. We also got to met Yaneth, my brother's wife.
The next week, my parents came to babysit for the kids for 3 days!!! Ya hoo!!! Mike and I got to go to New York City. What a blast! We spent 3 days shopping, eating, going to shows, eating and well eating. Mike was very star struck getting to meet Eric Rupert (a "famous" chef). Neither of us could think of anything good to say to him, but "your restaurant is very tasty". Oh well, as I said star struck. We went to see Chicago and God of Carnage (a new show that won several Tony Awards). They were both amazing.
Meanwhile, back at the homestead, my parents enjoyed playing with the kids. Savannah reports that she didn't miss us. Thank you again Mom and Dad!! I hear they have a retirement gig, "The Grandma and Poopa babysitting service". They could make a fortune!! As a bonus, my dad took some cute pics of the kids.

Happy Birthday Megan and Elliott
One of the funniest things they do now is go "exploring" together. It started a few weeks ago, we were in the basement and I heard Elliott crawling down the hall towards the bedroom. Soon, I hear Megan following. I follow them back and they both stop, look at me, both laugh, and start crawling faster!! It is very funny now, but I'm sure these two are going to be getting in lots of trouble together. Elliott loves to play with cars and trucks (ok he also loves the cute tea pot). It is funny that Megan could care less about these things. She still perfers playing with her tunnel and various shoes.
Savannah has been doing much better lately with sharing her toys with the twins. I think it helped that they got a few exciting toys for their birthday. Sharing seems a little more appealing when there are toys you want shared!! She is really enjoying school, making new friends and learning a lot.

What a year!!
It feels like YESTERDAY I started keeping this blog. If I only knew then what I know now I:
1. Wouldn't have gone to the hospital at 36 weeks thinking I was in labor (because of course I wasn't!!) Really, I was having regular contractions...I swear!!
2. Wow, besides that I wouldn't have changed a single thing!

We went to visit Nana and Grandpa Smith's for the first Illinois football game. Mike has season tickets with his dad. Savannah had the best time riding big tractors with her Grandpa. I am pretty sure he enjoyed himself as well!! Elliott and Megan love crawling around Nana and Grandpa's house exploring.
We also got to see Bella and Brishen Weir for brunch on Sunday. It was a fabulous weekend!
